१९६०-१९७५ का यही वह बेहद सुरीला कालखंड रहा जिसमें कई प्रतिभावान संगीतकारों ने लता जी को लेकर एक से बढकर एक सदाबहार गीतों की मानों झडी लगा दी। इसी दौरान लता जी का नाम Guinness Book of World Records में भी दर्ज हो गया।-

   १९६०-१९७५ के सुरीले युग में जिन संगीत निर्देशकों ने लता जी की आवाज के अनगिनत सुरीले पहलुओं को उजागर किया उनमे प्रमुख नाम हैं - संगीतकार नौशाद, मदन मोहन, हेमंत कुमार, सचिन देव बर्मन, गुलाम मोहम्मद, रोशन, सी. रामचंद्र, वसंत देसाई, रवि, जयदेव, शंकर-जयकिशन आदि। लता जी के रूप में इनको मानो एक अमूल्य रत्न प्राप्त हो गया। चाहे किसी भी ढंग का राग हो, लय-सूर-तान हो या आलाप, लता जी अपनी जादू बिखेरने वाली मुकम्मल आवाज में इस तमाम खूबियों के साथ पेश करती कि जैसे वो गीत जीवित हो उठता। बिना किसी परिश्रम के संगीत के उतार-चढाओ को लताजी आसानी के साथ गा लेती। कुदरती रूप से सुरीला कंठ उन्हें उपहार में मिला तो था ही, इसको साथ मिली कडी मेहनत और असामान्य ग्रहणशक्ति की, जिसके चलते देश-विदेशों की सीमाएँ लाँघकर यह दैवी स्वर करोडो दिलों के भीतर अपना स्थान बना पाया।

   इस अमर स्वर को न काल की मर्यादा है न सरहदों की। शायद ही ऐसा कोई घर होगा जिसमें लता जी का स्वर न गूँजा हो। अपने ५५ साल के सांगीतिक करियर में लता जी विविध भाषाओं में ३०००० से भी अधिक गाने गा चुकी है, यह उनकी संगीत प्रतिभा का एक अद्वितीय चमत्कार है जो सदियों में कभी-कभार ही देखने को मिलता है।

 Lata Mangeshkar, one of the most iconic playback singers in Indian cinema, reached the pinnacle of her career between 1960 and 1975. During this period, her collaborations with legendary composers such as Salil Choudhuri, Madan Mohan, C. Ramchandra, Chitragupta, S.D. Burman and Shankar-Jaikishan produced some of her most memorable and emotionally charged songs. Her unmatched ability to convey pain and longing and her effortless migration of her voice across all the octavesestablished her mastery as a playback singer. The music directors used her voice in all its grandeur which was characterized by elegance yet, simplicity.

 Lata's versatility made her the most sought-after playback singer of the time. Furthermore, The period from 1960 to 1975 also saw the rise of the film industry’s demand for different kinds of compositions, and Lata’s versatility allowed her to adapt to this changing landscape. Whether it was a lively, peppy number or a soulful melody, Lata was capable of bringing the appropriate emotional depth to every song. In addition to her romantic songs, Lata also sang a number of devotional songs during this period, which became immensely popular. These songs, though lesser in number compared to her other hits, still hold an important place in India's cultural heritage.

 Lata Mangeshkar’s influence during this period was not limited to romantic songs; she also excelled in patriotic and classical music. Her rendition of "Vande Mataram" from Jagriti (1954) became a national anthem, while her emotionally charged performance of "Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo" in 1962 paid tribute to the soldiers of the Indo-China war. Additionally, Lata’s command over classical music was showcased in songs like "Man Mohana Bade Jhoothe" from Seema (1955), which highlighted her intricate vocal control.
